The Middle East is a region where cars and truck is king and fuel is low-cost, often leaving little incentive to discover more environmentally-friendly ways of moving around.


But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have pushed up the price of oil, the issue of finding alternative sources of fuel has actually come into sharp focus.
