The Middle East is a region where vehicle is king and fuel is low-cost, typically leaving little incentive to find more environmentally-friendly ways of moving around.


But this year, as demonstrations throughout the Middle East have actually risen the price of oil, the issue of finding alternative sources of fuel has entered sharp focus.


In an area that has one of the highest carbon footprints in the world, one organization is taking benefit of the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's established the first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing rewarding too, currently their client-list contains McDonald's.
